In memory of Jazzie!

Jasmine, 1995-2009

Greetings all. This posting is in memory of Jasmine (nicknamed Jazzie), who joined our "pack" a couple of years ago when we adopted her from the wonderful Kennebunk shelter at the young-at-heart age of 12.

Enjoying a back scratch from Tim.

Despite back problems and severe arthritis and other medical issues, she joined in everything we did with the relish of a young pup.

Snacking on seaweed on the beach.

But alas the body couldn't keep up with her unfailing spirit indefinitely.

We will miss her smile and the way she always bounced up and down on her front legs in an excited way when she spoke.

One of her many nicknames was "Betty Davis eyes".
Perhaps you can see why?

Enjoying a rawhide bone among her canine pack.

And I've never seen a dog so happy to come home -- after coming through our gate she'd run and hurl her unsteady 60 pounds onto our deck, bounce up and down and bow-wow happily with that beagle bark that was uniquely hers, and wait cheerily to run first into the house. What a trooper!

Riding with her new buddies on the day we adopted her. She adapted quickly !

The photos don't do her enthusiastic spirit justice, but for those that knew her I hope these provide some happy memories of her sweet and tenacious nature. Enjoy!

Enjoying a summer day on the deck.
